Movie Time Is Wine Time

Merry Christmas everyone! It is now the time to celebrate our most awaited holiday of the year. Of course, the holiday season is not complete with one of the most celebrated alcoholic beverage in the the whole, wide, world – wine. But it seems that the holiday is still lacking something. What could it be? We know! Movies.

‘tis the season to be jolly with your favorite holiday movies that you’ve watched for how many times already. You know what pairs well with your holiday movies? You got it. Wine. Aromatic, delicious wine.

Here are the top wines that pair perfectly with your favorite Christmas to-go movies:

  1. A Charlie Brown Christmas

This easily-called classic is really good to watch while sipping a good bottle of Dark Horse Chardonnay or a sizeable 1.5L bottle of Barefoot Chardonnay (make sure to not get drunk!). Want to drink red wine? A nice bottle of Frontera Malbec or Trapiche Malbec is a good bet.

  1. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation

Hahaha! Another easy Christmas classic, make sure to laugh your butts off with a cheap but good bottle of Fritz De Katz Riesling 2015 Germany Mosel. Make sure you don’t sip it when the funny punchlines are said! For a red wine alternative, make sure to go with another classic bottle of Shiraz. A bottle of Barkin Classic Shiraz would do the trick.

  1. Elf

Another classic (yes, we consider a lot of holiday movies “classic”), this Will Ferrell-James Caan movie is about a child (Will Ferrell) that was accidentally transported to the North Pole as a toddler and raised to adulthood among the elves of Santa Claus. You can bet that this another legit comedy. A very good bottle of Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Champagne Demi Sec always solves that wine pairing with your favorite Christmas comedy movie of all time.

  1. It’s a Wonderful Life

Now this, this is an old one. However, you know what they say, “Old is gold.” A movie as good as this would need a good old bottle of Far Niente Chardonnay Napa Valley, because Napa Valley makes good wine. Drink that while watching the movie and it will make you feel that “moonbeams are shooting out of your fingers and toes and the ends of your hair.” For a nice red wine alternative, a bottle of Culitos Cabernet Merlot would be a very good choice.

  1. Miracle on 34th Street

Another one of those “Old is gold.” movies, this movie stars John Payne and Maureen O’ Hara. In this Christmas classic, a department store Santa Claus must prove that he is, in fact, the real Santa in a court of law. A good bottle of Commanderie De La Bargemone Coteaux D’aix En Provence Rose would do the trick. For another alternative, a nice bottle of Elk Cove Pinot Gris Pinot Gris is a good one.

  1. Home Alone Movies

Ahh, who could ever forget this last but never the least classic. This awesome classic about a young kid alone in his house always outsmarting and outwitting the wannabe intruders is always the one that gets played in every house in the world. An awesome movie as this deserves to be paired with an awesome bottle of Celliers de France Chardonnay.
