I’m sure you are wondering why the day after Thanksgiving and the Friday before Cyber Monday is BLACK Friday? We all know when Black Friday starts, it’s the day where you get your latest and greatest tech gadgets at half the price alongside Cyber Monday. Let me tell you a something about
If you search Wikipedia about Black Friday, it says, “The earliest evidence of the phrase Black Friday applied to the day after Thanksgiving in a shopping context suggests that the term originated in Philadelphia, where it was used to describe the heavy and disruptive pedestrian and vehicle traffic that would occur on the day after Thanksgiving. This usage dates to at least 1961. More than twenty years later, as the phrase became more widespread, a popular explanation became that this day represented the point in the year when retailers begin to turn a profit, thus going from being “in the red” to being “in the black”.”
These days, Black Friday means shopping spree and spree meaning “busy shopping” day. As good as it sounds, Black Friday can also be a day where there’s worse traffic jams, malls and stores filled with people everywhere, and if you’re not early enough, it can be a pain especially if you are looking for a specific purchase.
